Mijas, 6km from the townhouse and 8 km north of Fuengirola, is a charming typical hill top Andalucian town that is truly picturesque. Take time to see the old town. It is best seen early in the evening after all the day trippers from the coast have been and gone. It is a lot quieter then and you can walk around peacefully. |

Marbella, at the foot of the Sierra Blanca, situated on a beautiful bay is 30 minutes from the townhouse. It is a stylish and expensive resort with first class shops, elegant restaurants an energetic nightlife and excellent sporting facilities. Your time is probably best spent walking around the colourful old town (Casco Antiguo) where you can eat traditional paella at more reasonable prices. The front of Marbella is a great place for a stroll and there are hundreds of eating places of all nationalities to choose. Just a few minutes from Marbella is the internationally acclaimed Puerto Banus where the rich and famous gather.

Highly recommended if you like to get away from it all and have a beautiful lake all to yourself and your family. Take a scenic drive through the Sierra de Arguas from the townhouse. This trip into the Andalusian countryside will take less than an hour. |

Gibraltar is a worthwhile day trip from the townhouse. See the apes or take a dolphin tour or just meander down Main Street stopping off at the many outdoor cafes or English pubs. |

Granada is within a day trip from the townhouse due to the improved roads. The Alhambra is, of course, a must, although we suggest you book tickets via www.alhambratickets.com as it is best to book in advance. We would also recommend that you visit Sacromonte and the Albacin. Try the Mirador de San Nicolas with its fantastic views of the Alhambra and Granada. We suggest you get a hop-on and hop-off bus from the Alhambra and get off at the relevant sights. It is one price for all day. |
